We wish to express our deep sympathy and concern for the people of Haiti. The disaster and aftermath in Haiti invites all of us to rise to the occasion, give what we can, and share what we should with those in great need.

With Give Back as one of the pillars of WOLF, we know many of you are already trying to figure out how we can do more in our stores or in your Pack. In this case, however, we believe an enterprise response to a disaster of this magnitude is the right approach, and are grateful our company is willing to step forward with a sizeable donation that represents all of our concerns and willingness to help. Best Buy recently announced a $200,000 donation to help the people of Haiti. A $100,000 contribution was made to the International Federation of the Red Cross for immediate response efforts in Haiti, and an additional $100,000 contribution will be made to Mercy Corps, a strategic Best Buy partner through the Clinton Global Initiative and the Best Buy Children's Foundation, both for immediate and long-term technology and infrastructure rebuilding in Haiti.

It's also worth noting that Best Buy also has a program called BlueShirt Corps, a group of store employees specially trained to help the Red Cross in times of disaster by managing the set up and operations of its communications systems. We have been in contact with the Red Cross to offer up the services of this team to assist in Haiti, and we'll keep you posted if that team is activated.

We have provided links to the Red Cross and MercyCorps for those of you interested in adding to the cause. And of course, we encourage you to pursue their own individual efforts to assist and contribute time, talent and dollars to this crisis. As we hear of other opportunities for Best Buy employees to help the people of Haiti, we will pass them along.

We thank you for your passion in serving others.

Sincerely,
Liz Haesler & Mary Stoddart
