Women’s Leadership Forum (WOLF) in Action

Pack Innovation Update

At last year’s WOLF Conference, all Packs were tasked with innovating around the three underserved businesses: Appliances, Services and Mobile. Here’s an update on what some of the 50 packs across the U.S. are doing to help Best Buy be a great place for women to work and shop!

  • The California S.U.N. Angels plan to help make more customers aware of our mobile department by offering a free check for a mobile upgrade to customers who are shopping in other departments.
  • The Denver Mile High Pack plans to increase the number of prepaid phones in their market through many different efforts.
  • The DC Pack will be focusing on local female business owners by hosting two events that feature BBFB's offerings.
  • The Dea Dia A.L.L.I.E.S. Pack in Ohio is tackling an issue that is near and dear to many working moms and dads--childcare. They're working to find better options for retail employees who have different daycare needs than a 9-5 employee.

Watch for more about the innovations and results in upcoming months. To connect with a pack to help with their innovation, please contact WOLF@BestBuy.com.

Engaging Female Consumers through WOLF

Innovating alongside our customers!

 Charlotte Omegas & NASCAR

WOLF hosted a Charlotte Omega team and their guests at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the All Star Race on May 22.  During this event our local employees had the opportunity to connect and build relationships with these ladies, share in the excitement of the race and showcase some of the technology we carry at Best Buy. We also held a private shopping event on a Sunday evening as part of the NASCAR event at store #1767. Jon Alion, store GM had this to say about the event:

“The event was about networking and getting insight from women on how we can better serve our female customers. This has not only helped us but also made our female employees feel special in the fact that we have so much interest in their opinion. I have no doubt that we will continue to build on those relationships and see them in our stores in the future.”

Through both of these events, we were able to convert more women into loyal customers of Best Buy!

 Birmingham Omegas

An Omega chapter recently wrapped up in Birmingham, AL. Connecting the women in the community with Best Buy led to innovation and ideas focused on the business needs in Appliances, Best Buy Mobile and Services. Testing is underway on some of their great ideas.

 Minneapolis Omegas & Gammas

The latest chapter of Minneapolis Omegas recently kicked off at the corporate campus, and on June 10, the group will present their ideas to local leadership and local WOLF Packs. This chapter is focusing on Musical Instruments, Appliances, Home Theater and Best Buy Mobile.

There is also a group of Gamma Girls who will be presenting at this meeting. Gamma Girls are also female consumer innovation teams, but ages 12-15—teens.  These young ladies are helping Best Buy innovate around Best Buy Mobile and Musical Instruments. The Gamma Girls will also present on June 10.

Next up: New Chapters in Tampa/Orlando and Grand Rapids

Omega chapters will be launching in June in the Tampa/Orlando area and in Grand Rapids, MI. Local leaders are always welcome and encouraged to attend!
