Geek Squad Summer Academy (GSSA) was initiated in 2006 with two straightforward ambitions: to demystify technology for young women and to inspire their career path in this 21st century domain.

It is with this mission that Geed Squad Summer Academy and WOLF@Best Buy have combined efforts to open more doors for women in our company and our communities. By uniting our network of passionate employees, we are reaching out to inform and educate young women across the United States. The message is this: there truly is little to fear about technology and the possibilities are infinite.

GSSA is a community event sponsored by Geek Squad and our network of non-profit partners. National and local agents invest several days teaching young women everything from computer basics to an array of practical applications all while building their confidence and self esteem. Each participant learns vital life skills that will assist them in being productive members of the community, whether in a technological field or another career. The program strengthens Best Buy’s relationships with the communities they serve.

Something new for 2010! Through our strategic partnership with WOLF, we are transferring the fun and benefits of GSSA out of the classroom or community hall and right into Best Buy stores. The program, GSSAforBBY will cross-train women from other company departments and teach them how to be Counter Intelligence Agents. By instructing them on the basics of building computers and the Geek Squad Precinct toolsets, we will help them explore potential career moves with Geek Squad.

We invite you to experience the energy and potential of the Geek Squad Summer Academy and the WOLF@Best Buy partnership. What is in it for you? You will develop tech savvy confidence, become familiar with remarkable IT career options, and gain personal satisfaction giving back to the community. Enrich your life … join us!
