The purpose of WOLF Packs is to engage our employees to significantly impact the WOLF business matrix -- Retention, Recruitment and Market Share. The environment of the Pack helps foster leaders and enables partnerships throughout the organization to accomplish specific business goals. The Wolves are also committed to consistently partnering and giving back to the communities they serve.

Packs significantly impact their local market. They engage employees (retention) and Invite them to bring their whole selves to work. Packs help create an environment to bring in and loop employees’ ideas in the system (market share) and make significant impact to the business. Packs help develop leadership skills and business acumen for each employee that participates

There are additional leadership roles in each pack that members can self select in order to develop their voice, business acumen and drives results in their store/market. They are also responsible for managing their quarterly budget!

What do WOLF Packs do?

The WOLF Packs were designed to

  • Be the engine for WOLF
  • Make connections through networks, bridging the gap between corporate and stores
  • Expose and inspire employees that are not on a Pack to the WOLF mission and create opportunities to invite them to participate (i.e. Networking and Give Back Events)
  • Help build leadership skills in others
  • Transform the company
  • Make Best Buy THE place for women to work and shop

       

      WOLF @ Best Buy Pack Locations

      The first 3 WOLF Packs were launched in 2004/2005 in California. By 2006 there was a total of 25 Packs, 2007 12 more Packs were launched, 2008 14 more were launched, and in 2009 we launch one Pack in Puerto Rico and had a total of 49 WOLF Packs. The launch plan for 2010 is to launch 8 additional Packs; including 2 international -- Mexico and the UK, and 2 Service Center Packs.

      Over the past 5 years over 2,000 women and men have had participated as WOLF Pack members. 1,900+ women and 100+ men!Even though there is a limited number of employees that are able to participate in any given WOLF Pack at a time we encourage ALL employees to join the WOLF movement, and if you are not able to be part of a Pack we have created another great experience… WOLF Dens.       WOLF Pack Lottery Process

      The Packs are designed to support 27 members which allows for the largest number of employees to participate and still provide opportunities for strong, personal connections to be made among each of the members and for the Pack to be productive and gain traction in their work.

      Pack members are selected randomly via the Pack lottery process to ensure a diverse group of employees are selected. It is critical to WOLF SOP that the lottery selection process does NOT compromise the opportunity for employees to participate in a WOLF Pack based on their title, who they know and tenure with the company.

      To continue to bridge the gap between corporate and retail, the Pack can support 6 corporate members (5 female and 1 Alpha Male) and 21 retail members (20 female and 1 Alpha Male) If the Pack gets below 27 members, the Alpha’s or Commitment Wolf will replenish the retail employees back to 21 and will work with the Core Team to replenish the corporate members back to 6.
